Bookmark and Share Penis Frenuloplasty Surgery India

Males with tightly affixed foreskin to the under surface of the penis live normal lives and can pass urine without pain, but pain and discomfort will be experienced during an erection. A penis frenuloplasty sees the underside of the foreskin loosened (extended) to alleviate the pain of stretching foreskin during an erection and intercourse.

Those who have normal foreskin, where the flap of skin is elastic enough to stretch under tension, or who are circumcised, don’t have this problem. The only way to alleviate this condition is to undergo a penis frenuloplasty and have the small band (frenulum) lengthened underneath the penis. Stretching the frenulum by yourself will not help your condition in the slightest and it is a common misconception that a circumcision is needed.

Procedure information
A general, or local, anesthetic is administered; the latter being a better option for those who aren’t so squeamish due to the faster recovery time. The whole process can be done in a single day and involves the urologist making incisions in the frenulum and reorganizing the band so that a fuller retraction of the foreskin may be achieved.

The operation itself only takes about 10 minutes and ends with protective gel being rubbed around the area. Those who have a general anesthetic will be groggy for a time and should not drive a car or operate machinery for at least 24 hours.

Recovery time
Patients will be able to get up and leave the hospital after an hour or two and the wound dressing may be removed after about 12 hours. There will be some pain and discomfort for about a week although injections or tablets will control this. The stitches disintegrate after about one week, by which time all bruising from the penis frenuloplasty should be gone.

Washing with soap and water is fine after the initial dressing is removed, but keep applying dressings until the wound has healed. You can drive after about three days after having a penis frenuloplasty and can return to work after about a week, but should not do any heavy lifting or have any sexual activity for two or three weeks.
